Health Sciences North/Horizon Santé-Nord (HSN) is recruiting health care professionals who have a keen interest in affecting change within its dynamic health care system. As the tertiary care referral centre for the entire Northeastern Ontario region, HSN serves a catchment population of over 600,000 residents.
HSN is seeking energetic and dedicated Endocrinologists as we develop a comprehensive Endocrinology Service. Our existing Endocrinologists provide both in-hospital and outpatient consultative services for patients with diabetes and their follow-up, utilizing the resources through the local Diabetes Education Program. Consultation services are also provided in general endocrinology for patients across Northeastern Ontario. HSN is a Bariatric Centre of Excellence, there is the opportunity to be involved in the management of patients in their weight loss journey from medical weight loss programs to bariatric surgery. New Endocrinologists would also have the opportunity to develop other areas of special interest. The successful candidate will be working with a strong, supportive and collegial group of colleagues in a three-site community hospital organization committed to providing high quality, comprehensive clinical services. The successful candidate will be working with another pediatric endocrinologist and allied health team members, sharing outpatient clinical activity within our Pediatric Endocrine clinic, Pediatric Diabetic Education Centre and the Healthy Outcomes Pediatric Program of Scarborough (HOPPS) as well as providing subspecialist support to our inpatients when needed.

William Osler Health System (Brampton site)
The Division of Endocrinology of the William Osler Health System is seeking 3 full-time Associate Endocrinologists to join their Brampton site. The successful candidates will join four other Endocrinologists in delivering full-time inpatient and outpatient endocrinology care and have access to an excellent diabetes education centre with a full range of nuclear medicine resources. The incumbents will participate as a member of the division in providing call coverage and provide patient follow up in their community based practice located in the Brampton Etobicoke Ontario Health Team (BE OHT) catchment area. The position requires excellent communication skills in English. Additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population. The Division of Endocrinology at SickKids is seeking a 0.4-FTE contract position from August 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.
What do you need? Applicants must be eligible to obtain a specialist’s license to practice medicine in Ontario as well as Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Pediatrics and Fellowship training in Endocrinology.
What will you do? The position includes outpatient clinics in endocrinology and diabetes, as well as in-patient service and call. You will participate in educational activities within the Division including academic rounds and fellow/resident teaching.
Our community pediatric endocrinology colleagues also have 4 upcoming maternity leaves beginning this fall, so there may be opportunity to participate in other clinics in the Toronto area.
London, ON (Pediatrics)
The Children’s Hospital at the London Health Sciences Centre and the Department of Paediatrics, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University are seeking a Locum Pediatric Endocrinologist, from November 1, 2022 – February 1, 2023.
The Division of Endocrinology at Hamilton Health Sciences, Hamilton, ON, affiliated with McMaster University invite applicants for a Locum Endocrinologist to join the Division for 12 months starting July 2022. The successful candidate will be eligible for a term appointment for hospital privileges at Hamilton Health Sciences, a fully affiliated teaching hospital with McMaster University. The locum opportunity includes covering 1–3 half-day clinics per week (diabetes and general endocrine) for ~1 year, but the starting date and duration are negotiable. Support from diabetes nurses, dietitians and booking clerks is available through the Diabetes Program at the McMaster University Medical Center. For more infomration, click here.
