University of British Columbia, Pediatrics

The University of British Columbia and BC Children’s Hospital are seeking a visionary Division Head to provide clinical and academic leadership of the Division of Endocrinology. It is an exciting time for this division that is currently undergoing a significant transformation to enhance its clinical care and academic mandates to better serve the acute and chronic patient populations being cared for at the only children’s hospital in the province. There is a growing academic focus of excellence on Quality Improvement. The division is currently comprised of both full‐time and part‐time hospital‐based endocrinologists (9.50 FTE), as well as five faculty members within the community.

LMC Diabetes & Endocrinology: Toronto, Calgary & Montreal sites

LMC Endocrinology & Diabetes is currently seeking full-time Endocrinologists for 2018 practice launches, interested in joining our rapidly expanding health care network in the following Canadian cities: Barrie and Etobicoke, part of the greater Toronto area, Calgary & Montreal. We are currently North America's largest single-specialty physician group — 56 Endocrinologists — providing community-based Endocrine & Diabetes care in 11 Clinical Centres of Excellence in Ontario, Alberta and Quebec.

LMC offices are fully staffed and managed, affording access to existing large waiting lists of referred patients. Each office provides an Endocrine-customized EMR (Accuro platform) and Medical Assistants/scribes for virtual chart completion. Each site also includes an on-site, nationally accredited team of advanced Certified Diabetes Educators and access to Clinical Research trials. LMC Manna Research is Canada's largest Diabetes research group, including a 12-bed Phase 1 Clinical Investigation Unit in our Toronto head office location. Clinical trial participation is offered to each Endocrinologist and provides additional revenue and travel opportunities. We also undertake independent research in clinical epidemiology and real-world endpoint evaluation, using our Diabetes Registry, the largest globally of specialist-led diabetes patients. University of Western Ontario (Pediatrics)

The Department of Paediatrics, Children's Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre and Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, is seeking a Paediatric Endocrinologist to join our established Division of Paediatric Endocrinology. The Division of Paediatric Endocrinology provides a comprehensive ambulatory and in-patient service to a population of about 1.5 million in southwestern Ontario. Children with the full spectrum of endocrine conditions, including Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, disorders of growth, puberty, thyroid, adrenal, pituitary function, calcium metabolism, disorders of sexual development, and gender dysphoria are cared for in a range of specialty clinics. Our division works closely with an endocrinology nurse and a full inter-professional Diabetes Education Team. The Division of Paediatric Endocrinology works closely with our Adult Endocrinology Division at St. Joseph’s Health Center to ensure a seamless transition of care for our young adult patients. Credit Valley

Trillium Health Partners (THP) is the largest community-based academic health network in Ontario, serving over one million residents in the communities of Mississauga, Peel Region and West Toronto. The hospital encompasses three main sites — Credit Valley Hospital (CVH), Mississauga Hospital (MH), and Queensway Health Centre (QHC) – offering a full range of acute care hospital services, as well as a variety of community-based specialized programs including the Peel Regional Cancer Centre. The Division of Endocrinology is comprised of a dedicated group of Endocrinologists working at two sites (Credit Valley Hospital and Mississauga Hospital). The Division provides a full spectrum of Endocrinology consultation and related services, with care for Diabetic patients making up the largest component.

We currently have a position available for a full-time endocrinologist to join our team at the Credit Valley Hospital site. Services provided by the Division of Endocrinology at the Credit Valley Hospital include providing MRP coverage for patients admitted to Endocrinology; providing consultant coverage for the weekly gestational diabetes clinic in the Diabetes Care Centre; providing consultant coverage for high-risk pregnant patients with diabetes; providing I-131 radiation treatments for patients with thyroid disease; and participating in unplanned care within the Medicine program, which may include Internal Medicine coverage in the Emergency Department (i.e. on-call), most responsible physician (MRP) responsibilities for Endocrinology and/or general medicine in-patients, and provision of emergent/urgent Endocrinology consultations. There is a locum opportunity at the Janeway Children’s Hospital in St. John’s, Newfoundland. This is to cover a maternity leave. We are a tertiary care center providing service to Newfoundland and Labrador. Locum would include general endocrine, diabetes clinics, transgender care (if interested), and shared diabetes call with 2 other endos. Ideally, we would have someone come for the full 6 months.
